The twenty-first season of the *One Piece* anime, produced by Toei Animation, is directed by Tatsuya Nagamine (through episode 1122), Wataru Matsumi (from episode 1123 onward), Satoshi Itō, and Yasunori Koyama. It started airing on Fuji Television on January 7, 2024. The season covers the "Egghead" story arc from the manga by Eiichiro Oda, adapting content from the end of volume 105 through the start of volume 111. The story follows Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates as they encounter Dr. Vegapunk on the advanced island of Egghead, setting off a global-scale shock.
In October 2024, the series announced a hiatus until April 2025, during which a remastered and re-edited version of the "Fish-Man Island" arc would air in its timeslot. Upon returning, the show moved to Sunday nights for the first time since 2006, regaining a primetime network slot. Episode 1123 premiered on April 5, 2025, as part of the Premium Saturday timeslot, before shifting to its fixed Sunday night slot the next day with episode 1124 on April 6.
Six theme songs have been used so far. From episode 1089 to 1122, the opening is "Uuuuus!" (あーーっす！, Āssu!) by Hiroshi Kitadani, and the ending is "Dear Sunrise" by Maki Otsuki. From episode 1123 to 1138, the opening is "Angel & Devil" (天使と悪魔, Tenshi to Akuma) by Gre4n Boyz, which also serves as the special ending for episode 1137, while the ending is "The 1" by Muque. From episode 1139 onward, the opening is "Carmine" (カーマイン) by Ellegarden, and the ending is "Punks" by Chameleon Lime Whoopie Pie.
